PROJECT ENGINEERS IN CHRISTCHURCH – WE NEED YOU! We are busier than ever, and our clients across Christchurch are calling on us to help deliver their engineering projects. Caliber Design is looking for experienced Project Engineers to join our Christchurch team. At Caliber Design, we are an engineering consulting firm with a unique business model. Our engineers work on one project at a time, and directly within our client teams, providing flexible, on-site engineering support across a wide range of technically challenging projects. This is a role for engineers who enjoy more than just planning. We are looking for people who can combine strong technical judgement with practical delivery skills engineers who can understand the design intent, spot issues early, coordinate people and suppliers, and keep projects moving. Our Project Engineers work across large industrial sites, equipment manufacturers, infrastructure upgrades, production facilities, regulated environments, and custom machinery projects. From capital infrastructure installations and brownfield upgrades to advanced product development and commissioning, you will help make sure projects are buildable, efficient, safe, and delivered on time. With a diverse portfolio of industries and a network of over 80 like-minded engineers, you will have strong support around you, while still having the freedom to take ownership and make a real impact with our clients. To work on a wide variety of projects across different industries A strong and supportive network of 80+ mechanical engineers around you Structured learning and development pathways Real opportunities to grow your technical, client-facing, and project delivery skills An hourly rate with overtime of time and a half Medical, life and total & permanent disability insurance, paid for by the business (after 6 months) What We Are Looking For You will ideally have: A bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering Experience in project engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing, industrial sites, or equipment-related projects Confidence working with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resourcing Experience with testing, commissioning, and project close-out Strong communication, attention to detail, and time management The ability to adapt quickly to client environments and site protocols Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach CAD experience in SolidWorks or Inventor is important.
