Job Description The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine. OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Project Engineer - Civil To directly manage the delivery of assigned civil projects from initiation to close-out, including coordination of engineering, design and estimation inputs, preparation of project management documentation, identification and management of project risks, provision of schedule and cost performance data to project controls, timely resolution of emerging risks and issues during project delivery and completion of all quality control / assurance and project close-out documentation. This role reports to the Principal – Tailings and Civil Projects. Key tasks and responsibilities: Maintain a visible presence in the field whilst on-site by completing minimum thrice-weekly Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) and/or Task Observations with peers from the Project Development and Construction teams. Ensure that design works for projects under management are carried out using the appropriate risk management tools including FRA’s, HAZOP’s, CHAZOP’s, SIL Studies, Design and Constructability Reviews Collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Project Engineers, Construction Coordinators and other key stakeholders as required to clarify design requirements and solve design problems Responsible for the preparation of project documentation for all phases of project delivery including Concept Studies, User Requirement Specifications (URS), Scope of Work (SoW) and Project Execution Plan (PEP) Responsible for ensuring that interface meetings are set up and carried out with operational departments to ensure interactions associated with projects under management are identified and managed Ensure that all Quality Management Documentation is maintained for projects under management in accordance with the Quality Management Plan including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Field Inspection Checklists (FICs) and Field Test Record (FTR) documents. Assist the Construction Coordinators with Quality Control checks in accordance with approved ITPs Undertake a program of continuous improvement across all areas of accountability Qualifications Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field Project management qualifications (desirable) 3+ years’ experience in project delivery within heavy industry Knowledge of construction methods, processes, sequencing and technical standards Knowledge of OGC Project Management Framework Advanced user of MS office suite Intermediate user of MS Project Intermediate user of Ecosys (training will be provided) Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work in-line with project requirements.
