OVERVIEW

Dillon Engineering Services is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer on behalf of our client, a global leader in technical, professional, and construction services. This hybrid position is based in Cork, Ireland and involves managing day-to-day contract operations, performance monitoring, and ensuring compliance with key directives and contractual obligations.
Key responsibilities include overseeing tunnel system audits, Motorway Traffic Control Centre (MTCC) operations, PPP contract administration, and providing guidance on NEC3 contract management. The role also entails project management of client schemes impacting tunnel facilities and delivering advisory services as needed.
Note: Candidates must hold a valid visa or citizenship to work in Ireland/Europe.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in infrastructural projects.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical/electrical systems projects and the operation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external specialists to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project status and generate internal reports for tracking progress.
  • Support the Commission Manager with contract management, including milestone tracking and reporting.
  • Draft and review contractor correspondence, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Propose solutions to expedite schedules and recover delays, securing client agreement for proposed strategies.
  • Monitor contractor compliance and identify potential issues early to mitigate risks.
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct audits, inspections, and compliance checks alongside internal and specialist teams.
  • Review and coordinate compensation events and approvals for additional work as needed.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports to clients and stakeholders, providing clear updates and insights.
