A Post-tension design firm providing commercial and residential structural (Specialty) engineering, shop drawings, construction materials, concrete restoration and other related services is currently searching for a Project Coordinator to work out of our Miami location in the management and coordination of active/ongoing projects. As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating construction project efforts.
We are looking for a conscientious and detail oriented individual with a strong focus in coordination and customer service, to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to multi-task, have good leadership, communication and problem solving skills. As Project Coordinator you must be able to manage numerous large multi-faceted projects / accounts at the same time.
Duties and Responsibilities (Overview):
- Preparing post-tension shop drawings for monostrand, barrier cable, and shear rail systems.
- Supporting and coordinating manufacturing production by working closely with our plant management and equipment teams.
- Ensuring that projects are completed on budget by monitoring material quantities, pricing, and overhead costs.
- Attending occasional site meetings with clients and provide continuous email and phone support for active jobs.
- Coordinators are the primary contact point for our clients and coordinate between outside clients and internal engineering, finance, and fabrication teams.
- Organizing and creating project submittals, preparing formal letters & other written communication to customers as needed.
- Coordinating and reviewing submittals from subcontractors.
- Evaluate the progress of a project to detect limitations or faults in order to seek solutions to a more efficient process
- Develop and execute an efficient internal communication strategy for ensuring communication with all levels of management.
- Motivate team members to meet project goals by effectively carrying out their responsibilities.
- Offer solutions, set targets and satisfying client requirements.
- Other duties as assigned to meet company objectives.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Working knowledge of construction-related processes and industry practices.
- High level of proficiency with AutoCAD drafting. BIM experience appreciated but not required.
- Ability to read/interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and actively communicate with others in the branch.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management and/or experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Civil engineering a plus.
- Experience in concrete reinforcing systems a plus.
- 2+ years related experience a plus.
- Experience in post-tension industry structures, coordination and trouble-shooting a major plus
- Entry level ok, can train.
- PC proficient and competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel and outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively.
- Desire to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment.
- Proactive can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset.
- Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) a plus.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Strong ability to communicate with staff to relay information about a project to team members.
