Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of maintenance and civil works, embedding best‑practice project and engineering principles to achieve safe, compliant and efficient outcomes. You will support planning, coordination and delivery of programmed maintenance works. This is a hands‑on role with strong site exposure, stakeholder engagement and responsibility for quality, safety and commercial outcomes. Key responsibilities * Support the planning, scheduling and delivery of road maintenance and civil works  * Coordinate resources, subcontractors, plant, materials and suppliers  * Manage project budgets, purchase orders and cost control activities  * Ensure works comply with specifications, quality requirements and Downer standards  * Drive strong safety performance and actively promote a Zero Harm culture  * Build effective relationships with internal teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders  * Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned and innovation What you’ll bring * Degree qualified in Civil Engineering  * 5+ years’ experience in project delivery, maintenance or civil works  * Strong understanding of quality systems, cost control and contractor management  * Confident communicator who builds trust with crews, clients and partners  * Well organised, practical and focused on delivering safe, high‑quality outcomes  * Experienced using Microsoft applications and project / document management systems   Downer is a company that believes people are our greatest asset.
