A project engineer E&I within Boskalis plays a vital role in complex maritime and engineering projects. Leveraging deep expertise, they conduct thorough problem analyses, offering creative solutions for intricate projects. Responsibilities include translating customer requirements into feasible solutions, collaborating with stakeholders, and overseeing procurement and after-care processes. Here, you’ll be working at our Central Fleet Support department from our headquarters in Papendrecht or on Offshore Energy or Dredging projects all over the world.
Adept at creating specifications and comprehensive project plans, the project engineer ensures smooth execution. They monitor project timelines, quality, and conduct cost/benefit analyses, managing expenditures effectively.
Remaining informed about discipline innovations, a project engineer contributes actively to team knowledge sharing. Taking the lead in transferring applied knowledge. They also review project engineer performance, ensuring high standards. Providing technical consulting during tender and execution phases, the project engineer is integral to the success of maritime projects, driving efficiency and quality.

YOUR QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or Maritime Engineering.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a project engineer within the maritime industry.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Flexible, like to be responsible from concept until commissioning and delivery, good communication skills to explain the choices you make.
Responsibilities
  • Analyzing problems and the alignment of these problems with users.
  • Realizing the technical (preliminary) design and writing functional specifications.
  • Requesting quotations, outsourcing work, drafting and supervising external parties, creating budget calculations, and monitoring the budget and project progress.
  • Technical inspection of designs, documents, and drawings.
  • Organizing and leading executive activities on location, directing and integrating activities when commissioning projects, and taking responsibility for official acceptances, sea trials, and final project deliveries.
