The expertise and enthusiasm of our people and professional, friendly atmosphere is paramount to our continued success.  Sedgman is proud to offer the position of Project Engineer to join our team in Brisbane with and Electrical and Instrumentational Engineering background. In this role you will support the project delivery and commissioning of a Coal Processing Plant and will require knowledge of network and control systems. This role will be site based on a 6-month FIFO contract.  Key Responsibilities: * Coordinate and administer construction activities to ensure that projects are executed in accordance with plans, designs and specifications. * Interpret designs for implementation in the construction of projects. * Contribute to constructability improvements for the design. * Arrange and oversee the letting of supply or works contracts as required.  * Provide cost control and forecasting support for nominated JDE cost codes andor contract packages. * Monitor project progress for adherence to programme and report to Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager. * Coordinate the plant design deliverables and interface with procurement or construction via the respective lead engineers * Assist Planner, Senior Project Engineer and/or the Project Manager to prepare schedules for the project. * Ensure that contract works ‘packages’ are engineered in accordance with standards set by both client and the company. * Timely issue of contracts / purchase orders and ensure that they comply with both the Head Contract and internal procedures. * Ensure that all variations to scope and or specifications are approved and documented. * Ascertain the vendor documents are reviewed for approval on an urgent basis to avoid delays in the design and construction schedules. Qualifications: * Bachelor of Electrical or Controls Engineering. * Essential skills, knowledge and experience: * Minimum 5+ years’ experience industry experience. * Experience with Electrical and or controls-based projects. * Desired skills, knowledge and experience: * Coal industry experience. * Experience in heavy industry environment.
