ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING (EIT)
Pipeline Construction – Aitken Spread, Aspen Point Pipeline
Contract Position (July to November 2025)
Camp-Based – North of Pink Mountain, BC
Michels Canada is a nationally recognized energy, infrastructure, and power construction general contractor with offices across Canada. We are part of the Michels Family of Companies, a family-owned and privately held global construction company with operations across North America, Australia, and Germany. Our company is dedicated to empowering our people’s personal and professional growth while shaping a better future through safe, reliable infrastructure. Michels Canada is headquartered in Nisku, Alberta, with offices in Vancouver and Toronto.
We are seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support the execution of the Aitken Spread of the Aspen Point Pipeline project. This is a camp-based field role requiring strong attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and effective collaboration with the site team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their engineering career to gain practical pipeline construction experience.
Key responsibilities include assisting in the coordination of daily field engineering activities, supporting inspections and documentation, participating in safety briefings and project tracking, communicating with crews and supervisors, monitoring progress against design specifications, maintaining accurate records (quantities, RFIs, reports), and supporting safety and environmental compliance. Additional duties may be assigned to support project execution.
Requirements include registration as an EIT in a Canadian province (P.Eng also considered), a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field, and preferably some field or construction experience in pipeline, heavy civil, or industrial projects. The successful candidate must be organized, communicative, proficient with Microsoft Office, and comfortable working 12-hour shifts, 6 days per week in a remote, camp-based environment. Physical ability to work in rugged outdoor conditions is required.
This position offers camp accommodations and a competitive compensation of $4,000 per week. The role runs from July to November 2025 and is based in camp north of Pink Mountain, BC.
All applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
To apply, please visit www.michelscanada.com and submit your application through our Careers page. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
