Description
Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure. The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. The Opportunity The Project Engineer – Electrical, is responsible for designing, managing, and overseeing electrical projects and ensuring safety, quality and compliance. Please note this role is based on site on a FIFO roster. Key Accountabilities We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Electrical, to join the HumeLink West team. The position is responsible for- · Developing electrical designs and project plans ensuring compliance with industry standards. · Overseeing installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including substations and transmission networks. · Ensuring all electrical works adhere to safety protocols and relevant regulations. · Monitoring project progress, conduct inspections and maintain documentation to meet the client’s quality standards. · Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to align project delivery with client expectations. About You · Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. · Proven background in Electrical Engineering for Brownfield Substation projects. · Strong understanding of safety protocols and risk management in Utilities projects. · Effective project management and communication abilities to coordinate timelines, budgets, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
