Set for completion in 2027, the state-of-the-art campus includes 300,000 sq ft of research laboratories, an oncology and preventative care clinic, and educational and meeting spaces. Together, they create the perfect environment for EIT Oxford experts to take ground-breaking ideas from research to broad implementation. The new facility will further EIT’s current partnership with the University of Oxford and become the new home for Ellison Scholars.

EIT Oxford is looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a passion for delivering high-impact capital projects, to play a key role in enhancing the performance and reliability of our assets, equipment and facilities. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, you’ll take ownership of engineering projects from design to commissioning, managing costs, schedules, and contractors while ensuring compliance with cGMP and site standards. You’ll also drive long-term strategy, develop procedures, support risk assessments, and champion health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
This is a hands-on role where your expertise in project management, contractor supervision, and system reliability will be key. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact, optimizing performance across our Oxford sites while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

• Degree Qualification in an Engineering discipline.
• Apprenticeship or relevant experience in an Engineering Discipline.

• Capital approvals and reporting may include communication with Senior Management, Directors and President/ COO, as required. This is dependent on costs and approval level.
• Activities affecting external personnel involve some complex communications. Examples may include, Public, Landlords, Estate Management, Contractors, Consultants, Statutory Bodies, Regulatory Agencies, Local Authorities, Legal Advisors or Solicitors.

• Deliver projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with cGMP and site standards.
• Investigate root causes of site issues to improve system reliability.
• Plan asset replacements as part of the 5-year Long Range Plan.
• Support other business functions and departments.
• Develop site standards, including engineering change control and drawing management.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, including competitive tendering.
• Implement a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach to manage costs.
• Troubleshoot complex systems, including utilities, PLCs, instrumentation, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, air, water, and other building equipment.
• Interpret system drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Manage engineering projects from planning to commissioning, controlling costs, schedules, and quality.
• Supervise and optimise contractor utilisation to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and support user departments in project delivery.
• Stay up to date with legislation, health & safety, and industry advancements, recommending improvements.
• Provide out-of-hours support and attend callouts as required.
• Contribute to long-term strategy development and produce equipment specifications and capital proposals.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Ensure safe working practices for staff and contractors, promoting a clean and organised work environment.
• Support training initiatives and deputise for Facilities team members when needed.
