Description The Project Engineer is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and submitting all documentation and certifications required to demonstrate fencing, gate and controls material compliance with project specifications as they relate to the fence and perimeter security material supply scope of work. The documentation includes: Product Data: Manufacturer literature, data sheets, and certifications demonstrating compliance with specifications. Samples: Material, finish, or color samples as required for selection and approval. Certificates and Available Test Reports: Manufacturer or third-party documentation verifying compliance with performance or quality standards. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals: Equipment or system operation and maintenance data, when applicable. Closeout Submittals: warranties, and other documentation required to support project turnover. This position supports the customer project management team by ensuring that all submittals are accurate, complete, and approved in time to meet project schedule requirements. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement project execution plans, schedules, and control processes to ensure consistent delivery across multiple projects. Prepare, coordinate, and submit all required product data, samples, certificates, and related product documents to the customer for review and approval. Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve document accuracy, data extraction, tagging, and cataloging efficiency. Utilize construction project management and collaboration software to manage submittals, RFIs, revisions, approvals, schedules, and document version control. Platforms may include, but are not limited to, Procore, Autodesk Build / Construction Cloud, eBuilder, Oracle Primavera, CMiC, Viewpoint, Newforma, PlanGrid, Bluebeam Studio, SharePoint, and other contractor- or owner-mandated systems. Work directly with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontracted vendors to obtain necessary technical documentation. Manage and coordinate assignments across multiple project manager’s and coordinators to meet customer project schedules. Coordinate closely with the Installing Fence Contractor (IFC) to meet established submittal procedures and schedules. Monitor submittal review turnaround times and communicate potential schedule impacts to the Customer Project Manager. Prepare and track resubmittals as required to address review comments. Assist in the coordination of product related documents for the IFC to support requests for information (RFIs) related to submittal content or technical discrepancies. Maintain organized electronic and/or physical records of all submittal documentation per project requirements. Support the closeout process by compiling operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and as-built documentation. Ensure compliance with Division 01 – Submittal Procedures (Section 01 33 00) related to the submittal schedule and administrative and procedural requirements for submitting FSG relevant Shop Drawings, Product Data, and Samples. Requirements Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in construction documentation or project coordination may be considered. Experience: 5-7 years of experience in construction project administration, engineering, or document control, preferably with a fencing installation contractor or specialty trade contractor. 2-4 years’ experience leading project managers. Experience working on commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects. Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, eBuilder, or similar platforms). Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and submittal procedures. Experience utilizing AI tools to improve data collection and curation efficiency. Experience and understanding of fencing, gate and access control products and other related perimeter security products. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and PDF editing tools. Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Collaborative approach with internal teams, vendors, and general contractors.
