You’ll lead the delivery of road and infrastructure maintenance under our WDC Road Maintenance Contract, helping us deliver the safe, reliable transport networks that local communities rely on every day. Mō te tūranga | About the role This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be at the centre of our road maintenance and renewals programme across the Wairoa network. You’ll split your time between site and office – leading crews, coordinating works, and managing contract performance. From planned renewals to emergency response, you’ll make sure our work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, directly improving safety, resilience and connectivity for the community. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Lead project teams and take ownership of the day-to-day running of sites to deliver construction and maintenance works Plan, schedule and coordinate works, resources, subcontractors, materials and plant to meet programme, safety and quality targets Manage consents and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), ensuring full compliance and high environmental standards Drive quality and commercial outcomes through field measurements, audits, claims, pricing and accurate project documentation Monitor KPIs and contract performance, identifying opportunities to improve safety, productivity and customer outcomes Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, councils, subcontractors and stakeholders to support smooth project delivery Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with Relevant engineering qualification (BE, NZCE, Diploma, or equivalent) Experience in roading and infrastructure projects and/or maintenance delivery Proven skills in planning, programming and coordinating works Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing operational teams Solid background in quality assurance (QA) and contract administration Experience managing consents and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) for council and/or Waka Kotahi projects He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
