  • Want to help us better the communities we live and work in? Our purpose of creating, connecting, and caring for communities is more than a saying to us – it’s a way of thinking, working, and living because we’re locals too, and seek to give back in ways that strengthen and build resilient communities. We do this because we genuinely care, enjoy what we do, and even manage to have some fun along the way! You’ll find us partnering with local and national community groups, like Clontarf Foundation, Black Dog Institute, and Soldier On, in addition to indigenous groups and social enterprises, to ensure that our good work positively impacts and brings about sustainable change within our industry.

What’s on offer?
An opportunity has now become available for a suitably experienced Project Engineer to oversee design and construction projects from conception through to completion in our Infrastructure Services business. Based in Eight Mile Plains, you will report to the Department Manager, where you will be instrumental in working within a well-established team to coordinate design and construction activities whilst ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard and quality.
As the Project Engineer, you will build on our strong key stakeholder relationships within both the government and private sectors, and you will be empowered to lead and develop a team of Site Engineers to ensure successful project delivery within a safety-first culture.

Your Contribution

  • Coordinate construction activities, and ensure Systems of Work are implemented through SWMS, Special Processes and Corrective Actions.
  • Ensure projects are adequately resourced taking into consideration project complexity, client requirements and budget constraints.
  • Recommend award of subcontract packages, ensuring best value through appropriate scoping, commercial conditions and subcontractor selection.
  • Review and analyse project programs to assess performance against the contract program and ensure mitigation measures are implemented as required
  • Understand the application of the EBAs and ensure site compliance.
  • Mentor, coach and develop junior team members as required, ensuring a custom approach to each individual.

You will have previous experience in managing civil infrastructure projects or asphalt resurfacing/rehabilitation projects and ensuring contractual obligations are met, as well as maintaining positive client relationships. Your ability to show initiative to identify and address issues before they arise, with the aptitude and flexibility for taking on new challenges will set you up for success. Your analytical ability in cost control, reviewing monthly project forecasts and interrogating forecasting costs to complete as required, will also be crucial to your delivery.
