PROJECT ENGINEER

Due to recent growth in Georgiou’s division, we are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work in our Engineering team. This role will start in the tendering team and then move into a construction delivery role on a resource project in a FIFO capacity.
The point of hire is Perth, roster (when mobilised to site) likely to be 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
The successful candidate will display strong technical skill in all elements of civil engineering but most notably in the civil industry, roadworks and earthworks experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Able to work away on a 2/1 roster and able to work in a remote environment with respect to the local community.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the civil construction industry with either roads or earthworks, roads/structures/bridges/utility services.
  • Previous Main Roads experience is highly desirable
  • Able to demonstrate prior forecasting, daily productivity, and cost control skills experience
  • Able to demonstrate reading in-ground services plans and ability to plan works
  • Must have skills to undertake planning/programming activities whether in Excel/Microsoft project/Primavera or other
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and suppliers for site works
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of dealing QA requirements for site such ITPs, Lot conformance and MDR compilation, etc.
  • Experience in coordinating and/or running toolbox meetings, pre-start meetings, site inductions and a demonstrated commitment to HSEQ practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills which enable you to assist in resolution of client and key stakeholders’ concerns]
  • Must have a relevant Engineering degree
Responsibilities
  • Scope, prepare short term look ahead programs, and provide input into the project schedule, status of works and reporting requirements
  • Monitor and report on project progress and maintain our contractual schedule/program
  • Monitor and review the project task financial outcomes, including overseeing project monthly forecasting and short-term cost controls to ensure project targets are optimised
  • Provide daily support, team supervision and feedback to field operations to produce high-quality project outcomes against company set performance criteria
  • Supervise the daily contract administration requirements and collaborate in the negotiation and control of subcontractor and supply agreements
  • Ensure project HSEQ objectives are set, shared and adhered to create an exemplary safety culture aligned to the values of ‘Safety is My Way’
  • Build and create lasting relationships with Clients and subcontractors to improve financial and productivity outcomes
