Description Job Summary The Project Engineer serves as a critical link between engineering, field operations, and project management teams. This role is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and execution of complex electronic security and C5ISR systems, with a strong emphasis on government-aligned projects and compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on field experience and engineering/project coordination expertise, enabling them to translate design into execution while ensuring quality, compliance, and performance in secure environments. Responsibilities: Engineering & Technical Support · Support system design, submittals, and engineering documentation for electronic security and C5ISR projects · Interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure accurate implementation · Assist with system architecture, device selection, and integration planning Field Integration & Execution · Provide on-site engineering support during installation, commissioning, and system validation · Work closely with Electronics Technicians to ensure systems are installed per design and standards · Troubleshoot complex system issues and support advanced programming and integration efforts Government Compliance & Standards · Ensure projects align with government standards, specifications, and approval processes · Support documentation, testing, and validation required for government acceptance · Coordinate with government stakeholders, inspectors, and compliance teams as needed Project Coordination · Collaborate with Project Managers to support schedule, scope, and deliverables · Participate in project planning, kickoff meetings, and progress reviews · Track engineering deliverables, RFIs, and submittal approvals Documentation & Quality Assurance · Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, as-builts, and system configurations · Ensure compliance with ISO-9001, CMMI, DCAA, and government standards · Support system testing, commissioning, and turnover packages Client & Stakeholder Engagement · Interface with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams · Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Requirements Qualifications: Education & Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred · Equivalent field experience may be considered in lieu of degree · 3-7+ years of experience in electronic security, low voltage systems, or C5ISR environments · Strong field experience supporting installation, integration, or commissioning of systems · Background supporting government or high-security projects Skills & Abilities: · Knowledge of access control, video management systems (VMS), intrusion detection, and networked security systems · Familiarity with systems such as Lenel, Genetec, CCure, Milestone, or similar platforms · Understanding of IP networking fundamentals and system integration · Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications · Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities · Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills · Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced project environments Physical Demands & Work Environment: · Ability to travel to project sites and support field operations as needed · Overnight travel may be required based on project scope · Ability to work in construction and secure environments · May require walking job sites, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs · Exposure to varying indoor and outdoor conditions General Requirements for All Levels: · Communication: Strong oral and written skills to interact with peers, supervisors, and clients. · Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented, capable of diagnosing and solving problems. · Screening Requirements: Candidates must pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license, and be eligible for U.S. Government Security Clearance.
