Description
Description The Project Engineer has responsibility to assist Project Managers in completing projects within budget and schedule and of the quality outlined in the construction documents. The Project Engineer is highly motivated individual and a proven problem-solver, with demonstrated excellence in client relationship management and is an innovative thinker. Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in all tasks, including: • Preconstruction. Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including pricing, scoping, and purchasing. • Scheduling. Baseline and bi-weekly updates. • Contracts. Developing scopes for subcontracts and purchase orders. • Submittals. Reviewing, transmitting, recording and tracking submittals and delivery of critical items. • Change orders. Pricing, submitting, recording, and tracking of Requests for Change Orders and Change Orders • Design changes. Recording and incorporating all design changes and sketches in the contract drawings and distribution to subcontractors and suppliers. • Closeout. Compiling closeout documentation, including record drawings and Operations and Maintenance manuals. Assist with punch list preparation and completion. • Meetings. Attend all meetings: owners, foreman’s, commissioning, etc. Record minutes from meetings. • Billings. Assist in preparation of monthly progress billings and approval of subcontractor/supplier billings. • LEED. Track LEED documentation including submittals, logs, and photo documentation, and coordinate commissioning. • RFIs. Assist Superintendent and Project Manager in developing of Requests for Information and track, log and record responses. • Quality Control. Assist Superintendent and Project Manager in quality control efforts. • Building Information Modeling. Some projects require Building Information Modeling (BIM) services. As applicable, provide BIM support on these projects. #INDJobs Requirements Competencies Associates degree is required. Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred. Two (2) years’ experience in a role of Project Engineer, for projects similar to those which Lewis constructs, is preferred. Experience with projects with contract values in excess of $10 million is a strong plus. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project is required. Experience with project management software, Primavera P6, and Sage Timberline is a plus. Familiarity with the USGBC LEED System is a plus. Experience with BIM Software (such as Revit or Navisworks) is a plus.
