PROJECT ENGINEER – HIGHWAYS DEVELOPMENT

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Project Engineer – Highways Development to join our Highways Design – Maintenance team based out of our Head Office in Bilsthorpe.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake the evaluation of externally designed Section 38 & 278 Technical Engineering Schemes on behalf of clients to ensure the Highway Asset meets Regional and National Design Specification and Safety Standards.
  • Work with developers, consultants and stakeholders to achieve Technical Approvals in accordance with Regional and National Design Specification and Safety Standards in order to secure Legal Agreements under Section 38 & 278 of the Highways Act.
  • Coordinate with and carry out inspections as appropriate with the Adoption Engineers to inspect works for technical compliance.
  • To Assist Local Highway Authority Development Control/Planning Officers on the acceptability of design and construction proposals and adoption issues that may arise.
  • Consult, communicate and liaise with clients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including members of the public and elected Members.
