JOB SUMMARY

HPS Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to support and coordinate with the Project Manager and Superintendent on various projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with all specifications, and must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and manage time effectively. This position requires assisting in gathering, organizing and distributing information to team members.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in the construction industry
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (preferred)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and implement solutions to complex issue

Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and distribute Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Maintain an up-to-date RFI log
  • Review blueprints and perform material take-offs
  • Process submittals and track their progress
  • Prepare and manage change orders
  • Coordinate and compile project close-out documents
  • Request and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders as necessary
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop and maintain project schedules
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Manage project budgets effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts
