JOB OVERVIEW The Project Engineer for Hydropower and Dam Development Projects will engage with corporate project teams to provide innovative, forward thinking design solutions to facilitate the development, design, and construction of hydropower and dam projects. The ideal candidate must be able to execute complex assignments under minimal supervision and visually portray complex design features. Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work tasks to meet scheduled delivery dates. Candidates must be self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skill and have the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. THE ROLE Directly reports to assigned Project Manager and is an active member of the project engineering team for the technical development of hydropower projects in accordance with the Project Execution Strategy. Collaborates and coordinates with and gathers / provides input from / to the other Units (Legal, Regulatory, CSR, Supply Chain, Business Development, IT, HSE, etc) of Prime Infra. Ensures that identified risks are actively being considered or mitigated throughout the development of the the deliverables under her/his responsibility. Prepares reports, calculations and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects. Attends technical meetings, preparation of minutes and diligent follow up on defined actions. Responsible for managing the works of consultants and contractors for certain parts of their scope, ensures the completeness and the correctness of the corresponding technical documentation and deliverables to be prepared by consultants and contractors. Supervision of field investigations. Continuously monitoring the deliverables under her/his responsibility against specific project constraints as well as requirements set out in the Project Execution Strategy. Develop, manages and follows schedules for deliverables under her/his responsibility in accordance with the Project Execution Strategy. Evaluates progress deliverables under her/his responsibility and prepare weekly updates of such. Identification of project-specific risks and collection of such from consultants and contractors and relaying to the Project Manager for including in the risk management plan. Participation in preparation of Terms of Reference for consultants and contractors for Due Diligences, Feasibility Studies, Site investigations, EPC Tender Documents etc. Actively collects lessons learned continuously in the projects, sharing the best practices and knowledge with the other units of the Organization THE INDIVIDUAL Overall relevant experience of at least 2-5 years in IPPs/Utilities/EPCs/Consulting firms related to energy sector. Minimum of Master’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field required. Overseas experience of significant benefit. Valid (Project Management) training or certification issued by any Project Management Institution or Certifying Bodies of benefit. Hands-on experience in handling Engineering Design & technical issues related to hydropower plants and main equipment. Knowledge and skills of overall Construction, Project Management, Risk Management of Hydro Power Plants of an advantage. Demonstrated excellence in effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the necessary skills to interface with local representatives, clients, vendors, contractors and subcontractors and other project stakeholders. Good understanding of budgets and design for cost solutions. Demonstrated project financial understanding (such as the development of construction budgets, interpreting and understanding financial reports, financial evaluations, etc.).
