Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Project Engineer I/II (Low-voltage), you will be responsible for the coordination, planning, and execution of project operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with project goals. Assists with various administrative and operational tasks throughout the project lifecycle, helping to maintain schedules, documentation, communication, and compliance with company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are the duties associated with being a Cochran Project Engineer. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Gather necessary details to ensure accurate material selection, dimensions, and incorporation of owner- or third party-supplied information
  • Maintain and track all jobsite documentation, including RFIs, ASIs, change orders, and relevant updates
  • Coordinate with other trades to align efforts and manage associated documentation effectively
  • Prepare and submit project submittals, schedules, and operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals
  • Estimate, quantify, and draft change orders as required throughout the project lifecycle (examples of projects: low-voltage, telecommunications, Audio Visual, Security, CCTV, Access Controls, etc.)
  • Monitor and document quality assurance procedures, including maintaining QA logs and addressing issues
  • Participate in project meetings as assigned, supporting communication and documentation of decisions

To perform the job of Project Engineer II successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following additional duties in addition to all of the Project Engineer I requirements.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of material and tool procurement, including ordering, releasing, receiving, and tracking to support project needs.
  • Update and distribute revised drawings to ensure all stakeholders have access to the most current project documentation
  • Estimate project impacts, prepare documentation, and maintain accurate tracking of all change orders
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance procedures, including the maintenance of QA logs and resolution of identified issue
