QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or product development
  • Experience using CAD modeling software (preferably SolidWorks) to create 3D models and 2D engineering drawings
  • Experience using an ERP system (preferably NetSuite) for managing part numbers and BOMs.
  • Understanding of how to design steel, aluminum, and plastic structures and components with consideration of manufacturing process constraints.
  • Experience creating prototypes and executing prototype testing
  • Ability to take on multiple projects with the appropriate level of delegation and time management.
  • Proven track record of driving innovation, process improvement, and successful project execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to product design and development.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Engineer I/II will be responsible for leading new product development and product improvement projects in the marine industry including pier, boat lifts, and related accessories. The Project Engineer I/II will lead projects from concept to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams and production staff to ensure designs meet project parameters and safety/quality standards. This position will play a key role in driving innovation, improving processes, and delivering high-performing products that align with company goals and customer needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to design, develop, and improve piers, boat lifts, and other accessories.
  • Lead product development and product improvement projects from concept to launch, including concepting, design, prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure functionality, safety, and quality.
  • Utilize expertise in metals and plastics to create functional, durable, and manufacturable product designs.
  • Create and revise 3D models, 2D engineering drawings, and product documentation using SolidWorks to support manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with cross-functional teams and suppliers to manage engineering changes and tasks related to product development projects.
  • Use ERP (NetSuite) to create and manage part numbers, bill of materials, costing, and engineering changes
  • Create, review, and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
  • Perform mechanical design calculations, testing, and troubleshooting to resolve engineering challenges and improve product performance.
  • Provide technical support to production teams on assembly processes, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and engineering best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Generate technical documentation on products for manufacturing teams, install teams, and our customers
  • Perform other duties as needed.
