Position Overview The Project Engineer will perform a variety of complex technical engineering assignments including specification review, equipment selection and execution of projects from receipt of purchase order through start up and commissioning. Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Location: Knoxville, TN | On-Site Pay Range: Dependent on Experience | $80,000 - $135,000 Salary Benefits: Group Medical, Dental Vision, 401(k) Match, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, and Paid Sick Time. +Employer Paid Benefits: STD, LTD, Life AD&D Essential Duties: Review specifications to standard offering Develop technical clarification/exceptions to specifications Size equipment to specifications as needed, including but not limited to, Heat Exchangers, Water Pretreatment Equipment, Evaporator Systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO)Systems Obtain technical quotes for non-standard equipment/components Develop Project P&ID Perform calculations to meet code and regulations Specify non-standard valves and instruments Ability to lead a project team in a Matrix organization to include designers, drafter, technicians, and other engineers Review technical manuals for drawings and component literature Develop test procedures from specifications and standard test procedures Approve drawings/BOM’s per established procedures with input from sketches, calculations, specifications, etc. Assist performance testers in equipment set-up and testing Prepare test reports as necessary for customer review and approval Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering from an accredited university Minimum of 6 years previous engineering experience related to product design, manufacturing engineering or related experience required. Experience using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD a plus Requirements: Must be authorized to work for a U.S. employer Currently have PE or working towards PE certification is a plus Ability to solve problems using critical thinking, and scientific and analytical skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills working within teams Able to work overtime as required *This description indicates the general nature of the tasks and responsibilities required of positions given this classification.
