PROJECT ENGINEER II

Vecna Robotics seeks a Project Engineer II to join our high-impact Deployment Engineering team. This hybrid role offers a dynamic mix of technical execution, customer and partner training, and onsite optimization, ensuring successful adoption and long-term performance of our robotic solutions. You will play a hands-on role throughout the deployment lifecycle—from simulation and digital twin development to post-launch field support.
The ideal candidate is resourceful and hands-on, with a passion for solving real-world problems and driving customer success in fast-paced, logistics-focused environments.
Travel Required: ~25% (domestic and some international)
Reporting to the Director of Deployment and Field Operations, this is a full-time, salaried role based in Waltham, MA. Responsibilities
  • Develop and review project scopes, technical requirements, and engineering specifications in collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Create detailed layouts using CAD tools to define autonomous mobile robot (AMR) routes and workflows.
  • Build digital twin environments and run simulations to validate system performance and meet key performance indicators.
  • Identify risks and propose solutions to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
  • Lead hands-on training for customer operators, service techs, and internal stakeholders—onsite and virtually.
  • Onboard partner organizations and support standardized execution through comprehensive training materials.
  • Support go-live efforts at customer sites, ensuring successful onboarding and optimal robot performance.
  • Diagnose field issues and perform hardware and software adjustments during deployments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive product improvement and post-deployment success.
  • Document best practices and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing efforts.
