Lasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is seeking a Project Engineer III. This role will be based in our corporate headquarters, West Chester, PA. The right candidate will have a background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and experience developing consumer products for home, commercial, and restoration applications. In this position the Project Engineer III will be an instrumental part of the Product Development team creating innovative high-quality home comfort and health product solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role. The Project Engineer III will lead projects they are responsible for as well as work with the product teams to integrate new technologies into existing products. This position will also contribute in assessing and providing suggestions to increase the performance and reliability of our portfolio of products. In this role the Project Engineer will manage all aspects of projects you own including coordinating with product managers, engineers, quality, designers, and manufacturing to ensure satisfactory delivery of assigned projects. The Project Engineer III is also responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle including planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery. They will track progress toward milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepare reports for senior management. Primary Responsibilities Define technical product specification that align with consumer requirements including developing the product specification, defining components and building feasibility models. Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties. Develops electromechanical products by studying customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials. Lead the project planning of product development programs including working with cross functional teams to define the work breakdown structure and gaining alignment on project deliverables. Where applicable, be the voice of the team you lead and take ownership of all the information shared by you during the monthly NPD report to Lasko senior management. Collaborate with BU Managers to evaluate project opportunities and align on scope ahead of project acceptance. Track project status and submit updates to management that identify budget, resource and schedule objectives. Collect project requirements from all stakeholders, managing trade-offs to meet project goals. Ensuring stakeholder expectations are understood and managed accordingly. Responsible for managing and tracking: Project Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Resources, Communications, Risk, Procurement, Stakeholder Management. Mentor other team members with best practices. Manage subordinate team members that report to you. Fabricating proof of concept models and developing test protocols. Support the team in assessing existing product designs and providing suggestions for improvements. Personal and Leadership Qualities Ability to think big picture to solve complex problems Enthusiasm for sharing your expertise and teaching other in order to elevate the overall team’s knowledge base The ability to critical assess and provide structural feedback to others Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills KPI’s of which the Design Assurance Manager will be measured by: On-Time Product Launch Product Cost Attainment Driving the Innovation Roadmap Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering 4-8 years of experience in leading electromechanical products projects from POC prototypes to mass production launches. Experienced with Bench tools: multimeter, power supply, thermocouples and soldering irons. Experience with MS Project, Smartsheets or similar project management software Experience working with consultants and introducing new technologies into existing products.
