THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’re seeking a technically strong and solutions-driven Project Engineer to lead industrial projects within our Custom Program. This role is ideal for a Professional Engineer with deep expertise in energy efficiency, building/process engineering, and measurement & verification. You’ll provide technical leadership, guide a small team, and drive impactful energy solutions for our clients.

  • Support the Program Manager in long-term program planning, incorporating market trends and technological developments.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and direction to project teams, acting as project lead where required.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve service provider applications and technical guidance within the area of specialty, serving as “engineer of record.”
  • Lead and conduct evaluation, verification, and measurement of energy-saving projects, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Forecast program components, energy targets, and incentives based on past and current results.
  • Collaborate with business development, service providers, customers, and partners to support program growth and delivery.
  • Contribute to program design and improvement, including incentive structures, applications, and service offerings.
  • Assist with contract development, administration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely execution and high technical standards.
  • Provide coaching, career development, and performance management for direct reports, ensuring clear goals and measurable targets.

    What Will Help You Succeed?



    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and eligible for P.Eng. in Nova Scotia (or equivalent education/experience

    • Additional certifications (e.g., LEED® AP, CEM, CMVP) are considered assets.


      • Valid driver’s license.

      • Strong leadership skills aligned with E1 values; able to motivate, develop, and engage teams.
      • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, customer focus, and time management.
      • Technical expertise in energy efficiency measures, energy modeling software, and performance standards.
      • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
      • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and proven client service skills.
