The ideal Project Manager will have a minimum of 5 years of progressive Design Experience in Land and Site Development and at least 1 years of representing projects before approval authorities.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team player and initiator who wants to help grow a Civil Engineering Department with potential future opportunities as Senior Management
  • Strong AutoCAD 3D knowledge, and the ability to design with it
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working with private development projects and versed in attaining agency approvals with municipalities, state, and federal entities.
  • Prepare and oversee detailed civil engineering design that includes civil/site, roadway, drainage, stormwater management, utility design and coordination
  • Generate professional plans, specifications, technical calculations, exhibits, and reports
  • Perform material quantity take-offs and produce engineer’s construction cost estimates.
  • Coordination with several design disciplines as needed to complete project deliverables including in-house Architects, Environmental, Geotechnical, and Structural Professionals.
  • Coordination with outside consultants on the project team such as Surveyors, A-E Consultants, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, CEQA Environmental Consultants, and others
  • Manage Junior Staff Schedule, oversee staff progress & quality control projects.
  • Mentor junior and assist project managers with project staff resourcing.
  • Attend project team and client meetings.
  • Support the development and management of project scopes, budgets and schedules
  • Conduct site observations, existing conditions backchecking, and written field reports. Specific requirements include:
  • Experience with roadway design, storm water management, utilities and utility coordination, development of construction documents, and construction support services
  • Ability to review and comment on traffic plans, pavement markings, signage, signals, and temporary traffic set-ups.
  • Stormwater modeling experience (HydroCAD, StormCAD) with Green Infrastructure capabilities is a plus.
  • Self-motivation with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Visits Construction Site to monitor profess and other duties per the contract document
  • PE Registration in AZ

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
  • Confers with Client, Contractors and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems; prepares design modifications, as appropriate.
  • Develops scope of work.
  • Prepares status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Identifies and obtains team capabilities needed to accomplish project objectives.
  • Balances planning efforts with day-to-day demands
  • Prepares proposals and responsible for project bud
