JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Intermediate Project Engineer – Power Electronics is responsible to coordinate and monitor the design, development, and testing of switch-mode power conversion equipment. This role will manage a wide variety of projects and electrical design activities of varying scope and scale, including schedule development and maintenance, generation of EAC, ETC and other program metrics, milestone creation and tracking, and subcontract documentation deliverable management.

Responsibilities

AS PROJECT ENGINEER, YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Project management of a wide variety of electrical design activities of varying scope and scale
  • Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments, including EAC, ETC, milestone reports and schedule performance
  • Provide programmatic assistance and direction for electrical design activities
  • Review customer specifications and requirements and work with the engineering team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Ensure design compliance with all project requirements
  • Assist in the creation and management of ILS requirements, including technical manuals and other supporting documentation
  • Work with the Engineering Manager to determine resource requirements based on project status
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, and the customer as required
  • Participate in the preparation of more complex and significant proposals

WHAT YOU REQUIRE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with electrical design in a light manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience
  • PMP or equivalent designation is desired
  • Familiarity with the application of military and commercial standards to electrical designs is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and software, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Recent experience using MS Project, MS Access would be desirable
  • Recent experience using GitHub would be desirable
  • Strong electrical aptitude
  • Excellent technical writing, planning, and project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and is able to set and achieve goals and objectives
