Project Engineer (m/f/d)
Your Tasks
Directly reporting to the project manager, organisational and technical lead of the development, realisation, verification and validation of products on system level, according to planned cost, schedule and allowable risks. Identification of risks and ongoing issues including the development and implementation of pragmatic solutions. Support to System Engineering Team of other projects in the directorate of Exploration, Science and Human Spaceflight is envisaged

Main tasks within job

  • Complete the definition (incl. CONOPS and relevant analyses) for rendezvous and proximity operation
  • Provide inputs and cooperate with OHBI for the maintenance of system level documentation (e.g. Design Description Document, Budgets, progress reports, presentations)
  • Derivation from mission/system CONOPS and analyses of inputs to subsystem level design and analyses (e.g. relative geometries tables, attitude profiles, distances, angles, fluxes)
  • Responsibility as technical interface to the customer including all organizationalpoints in this regard
  • Ensure technical information exchange and networking within project team, with internal functional and technical departments and external entities
  • Provide mission/system engineering inputs toward OBSW and FDIR implementation
  • Support to subsystem and System level reviews
  • Act as Systems Engineering responsible for the technical portions of CCNs (contract change note). Arrange implementation of agreed changes to the corresponding design or for deliverables and of the implementation of RFWs (request for waiver) or RFDs (request for deviation).
  • Preparation of verification strategy at mission / system level (e.g. mission simulation tests, system level FDIR)
  • Preparation of system level test specifications and support to AIT for the development of test procedures
  • Analysis of test results, preparation of test reports for system level TRBs
  • Input to VCDs and VC

Your Qualifications

  • Typical relevant education: Completed studies (e.g. PhD, Diploma, Master) in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience: Proven capability for development and design in several of the following System Engineering fields: Mission Analysis, Spacecraft Operations, System Design, System Analysis, Interface Engineering, Requirements Engineering and Management, Validation or Verification, Project and Work Planning & Scheduling, Engineering Coordination, Customer Technical Interface
  • Social skills: Flexibility with technical problems; High cooperation ability; Very good communication skills

  • Leadership competence: Ability for technical team leadership and coordination; Innovativeness; Decisiveness
