Description

WE’RE HIRING: PROJECT ENGINEER (MANCHESTER, HYBRID)

Fractory is reshaping the manufacturing industry — and we’re growing fast. To keep up, we’re looking for a Project Engineer who’s both analytical and hands-on, loves solving technical puzzles, and thrives in a collaborative team where no two days are the same.
You’ll be the bridge between customer ideas and real-world manufacturing. That means reviewing drawings, identifying the best production approach, and keeping projects running smoothly from quote to delivery.

Responsibilities

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU…

Have 3+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing
Use CAD confidently (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, etc.)
Are based near Manchester and can come into the office a few times a week
Like structure but handle fast-changing environments with ease
Enjoy problem-solving and finding better ways of doing things
Bonus points if you’ve worked with CRMs, have project management experience, or have a mechanical engineering degree.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Analyse customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to assess manufacturability and identify potential risks
  • Recommend optimal designs and materials for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotes based on production costs, timeline estimates, quality, and material procurement
  • Collaborate with the sales team to align quotes with customer expectations and project constraints
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues throughout production, minimising delays and ensuring smooth execution
  • Participate or take the lead on the problem-solving process for troubled orders, and effectively communicate with sales, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues
  • Work continually with our suppliers’ network to improve performance
  • Manage communication and collaboration with internal teams and external partners
  • Collaborate with your team to identify and implement improvements that continually refine our processes and workflows
