Description
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER Dig deeper. Build smarter. Deliver with impact. At MC Squared, we don’t just analyze what's underground — we engineer what's possible. We’re searching for a Geotechnical Engineer ready to push boundaries and bring next-level insight to infrastructure projects that shape communities. If you’re sharp, curious, and confident in your geotechnical know-how, this is your opportunity to lead, innovate, and grow with a high-performing team. ---------------------------------------- WHAT YOU’LL DO You’ll be at the forefront of high-impact geotechnical projects — turning complex subsurface conditions into smart, buildable solutions. Key responsibilities include: * Own project execution — from field exploration to laboratory testing, analysis, and final reporting. * Drive design-stage success by performing critical evaluations (slope stability, shallow/deep foundations, pile capacity, wall systems, pavement design, and more). * Support construction with field inspections and problem-solving during active build phases. * Prepare technical proposals and detailed reports that meet client expectations and internal quality standards. * Bring innovation to the table. Provide advanced, practical, and value-added engineering solutions. * Maintain project excellence. Promote continuous quality checks and proactively resolve technical issues. * Prioritize safety. Follow and promote all field and site safety protocols. * Collaborate internally and externally. Communicate effectively with teammates, PMs, clients, and stakeholders. * Respond to RFPs and contribute to MC Squared’s growing geotechnical footprint. * Stay flexible. Take on additional tasks as assigned by your department leader. ---------------------------------------- WHAT YOU BRING Education: * MS or PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering. Experience: * 5+years of hands-on geotechnical project experience. * Strong background in: * Shallow and deep foundation analysis (bearing capacity, settlement, axial/lateral loading). * Slope stability evaluations and wall foundation design. * Pavement design and soil behavior assessments. * Experience with geotechnical software: FB-Deep, LPILE, GRLWEAP, APILE, FB-Multipier, GeoStudio, etc. * Previous work on heavy civil infrastructure projects (preferred but not required). Skills & Traits: * Clear, confident communicator — both written and verbal. * Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical mindset. * Well-organized, efficient, and reliable — especially under pressure. * Safety-first approach to fieldwork and design reviews. * A team player who also thrives independently. ---------------------------------------- CERTIFICATIONS * PE license is required, or the ability to obtain one within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe. * Active participation in professional engineering associations is a plus. BENEFITS We reward leadership, initiative, and results with excellent benefits and a competitive compensation package: * Medical – 2 plans, 100% employee coverage (effective your 1st month) * Dental & Vision – Comprehensive coverage * Retirement – 401(k) with 3% company contribution * Insurance – Short- & long-term disability (company paid), life insurance ($100k), accident & critical illness coverage * Time Off – Paid holidays + PTO * Extras – Bonus program, professional development, and certification renewals covered
Responsibilities
You will lead high-impact geotechnical projects, executing from field exploration to final reporting. Your role includes driving design-stage success and supporting construction with field inspections.
