QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in mechanical project management within infrastructure, energy systems, or similar commercial engineering works.
  • Experience in managing contractors and consultants for large-scale mechanical installations.
  • Strong understanding of safety performance and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with NZS 3910 (or similar) contract administration and project cost management systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software is preferred.
  • Tertiary qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge in fault tracing, and diagnostics of mechanical systems

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you passionate about overseeing dynamic infrastructure projects focusing on mechanical systems? We seek a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead critical capital upgrade projects that optimize the performance and sustainability of our facilities. In this role, you will be integral to the success of various strategic initiatives, from installing MRF conveyor systems to replacing gas generators and upgrading flare systems.
You will manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards. Additionally, your responsibilities will involve conducting research and overseeing the transition of innovative projects—such as solar systems, battery energy storage, and thermal recovery from heat—from conceptual research to full project realization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage contractors and consultants for Infrastructure Projects, ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant systems.
  • Lead capital upgrade projects focusing on mechanical systems to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and performance.
  • Manage contractors and consultants for Infrastructure Projects, ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant systems.
  • Oversee the replacement and installation of gas generators and flare systems, ensuring projects meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Research and develop strategic projects involving solar technology, battery energy storage, and hydrogen plants, guiding them from research to project realization.
  • Develop Whole-of-Life estimates and manage capital expenditure applications for infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and prepare technical reports, timelines, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring safety, quality, and budgetary adherence.
  • Provide as-built drawings and maintenance manuals upon project completion.
