About the role
At Balfour Beatty, we’re offering an incredible opportunity for a talented and driven Project Engineer to join our Power Transmission & Distribution team at the Melgarve Substation near Fort Augustus.
In this role, you’ll oversee the successful delivery of high-quality, sustainable projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards while managing activities across overhead lines, underground cabling, and substation construction. What you’ll be doing
- Develop and deliver engineered solutions, effectively briefing working parties.
- Ensure activities are delivered to program, cost, and quality standards in a safe and sustainable way.
- Accurately monitor and record project progress, maintaining comprehensive records and daily diaries.
- Lead and develop a thriving project environment, promoting safety and collaboration within the team.
- Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements) for both in-house and subcontractor activities.
- Manage health and safety protocols, providing improvement solutions where needed.
- Work with Project Management to conduct risk/opportunity reviews, manage the Risk Register, and implement necessary changes.
- Drive continuous improvement through workshops and development of operational milestones.
- Plan resource allocation, requisition materials and equipment, and ensure compliance with project objectives and KPIs.
- Support Project Management and step in as a deputy when required.
