Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Based in Wigan, with UK-wide and international travel
Salary: £50,000 per annum plus car allowance (£5,500)

The Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Project Engineer to join the Projects Department at the company’s headquarters. You will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of complex engineering projects, from tender through to successful delivery, across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and more.
This role involves preparing tenders, managing project documentation, liaising with clients and stakeholders, coordinating internal and external resources, and ensuring that all work complies with relevant regulations and standards. Travel across the UK and occasionally abroad will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and manage tendering activities and quotations.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare technical project documentation (schedules, lift plans, RAMS).
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Source equipment and subcontractors when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and project tracking using internal systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Represent the business in client meetings and site visits.

Requirements

  • Experience in industrial engineering or construction project delivery.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
  • Technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and lifting operations.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and detail-focused approach.

Desirable

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Appointed Person qualification for lifting operations.
