Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced GS6 Services Competent Person authorised to work on the SPEN network, with proven expertise in overhead line (OHL) operations. You will be competent in the use of a height meter and have in-depth knowledge of conductor types, span lengths, and the ability to calculate maximum sag capabilities and blow-out using appropriate SAG charts. In this role, you will coordinate GS6 activities in accordance with Scottish Power Transmission standards, ensuring safe and compliant delivery. Essential requirements include Scottish Power HV Authorisation, SMSTS, and previous experience working on the transmission network. This position is part of a major five-year project for Scottish Power, delivering a new 400kV OHL from Denny to Wishaw, upgrading three existing circuits, and constructing a new OHL circuit.
Must Have: Scottish Power Authorisation for HV. Previous experience of working on Transmision network. SMSTS.
