SUMMARY

A project engineer is responsible for the technical and engineering aspects of a project. He/She will ensure that the project’s engineering tasks meet the project’s goals, standards, and requirements. This involves planning, designing, coordinating, and executing the project. Project engineers also work closely with stakeholders to ensure the project is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES.

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency: Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD; Inventor
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Good time management skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering
  • +3 years of food manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Planning: Developing a detailed plan that includes timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments
  • Scheduling: Determining the project schedule by studying the project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
  • Quality control: Ensuring that all engineering-related tasks align with project goals, standards, and requirements
  • Compliance: Researching compliance regulations and upholding project standards
  • Problem-solving: Identifying, prioritizing, and selecting alternatives for a solution
  • Cost control: Approving expenditures, administering contractor contracts, and managing the project’s budget
  • Status reports: Preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains areas of operation in a safe and sanitary manner. Makes effective use of and makes recommendations on physical assets. Determines that established safety rules, Company policy, and good housekeeping are followed.

OTHER DUTIES

Coordinates with other departments to ensure cooperation and timely completion of projects. Communicates and cooperates with other members of management to maintain productive and harmonious working relationships.
Occasionally drives own or company vehicle in performance of some job duties.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
