OVERVIEW

Dillon Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (NEC Ops) to join our client, a large multinational engineering consultancy specializing in highway and public realm transportation projects. This project involves providing technical advice and supporting the client’s needs in the operation and maintenance of highway infrastructure.
The ideal candidate must have a valid visa/citizenship to work in Ireland/Europe.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of post-graduate experience working with infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical systems projects and managing the operation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working on an Infrastructure O&M scheme.
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and experience working on ITS schemes.
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance (O&M) of highway infrastructure or similar sectors.
  • Knowledge of PPP contracts, NEC3 contracts, and their mechanisms.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate input from internal teams and external specialists for project execution.
  • Maintain up-to-date project status and prepare internal reports.
  • Support the Commission Manager in managing contracts, including progress tracking, milestone achievement, and compensation events.
  • Draft and review contractor communications to ensure clear and efficient coordination.
  • Review contractor submissions for compliance with task orders and contracts, organizing technical reviews as needed.
  • Propose solutions to expedite project schedules, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Attend Risk Reduction meetings, recording agreed actions and mitigation measures.
  • Monitor contractor compliance, proactively identifying potential issues.
  • Develop and coordinate audits, inspections, and other compliance checks with the Commission Manager.
  • Review and approve contractor compensation requests as required.
  • Assist in periodic contractor service reviews, preparing detailed reports and findings.
  • Ensure internal procedures are formalized and updated as needed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections for operational compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to the client team and other key stakeholders.
