JOB SUMMARY

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our company. You will be involved in major projects, including new equipment sales and service installations of a variety of hydraulic and electrical lifting equipment.
You must be willing to travel from time to time throughout the UK and Worldwide as the needs arise.
The successful candidate will have the skills to work on their own initiative to provide and execute project management, engineering tasks and reporting.

REQUIREMENTS

  • HND/Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Project management experience or qualification.
  • Experience in Inventor/Autodesk or equivalent software.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Experience of working in an engineering environment.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in hydraulic lifting equipment, i.e. cranes (advantageous).
  • Mechanical/hydraulic experience.
  • Electrical experience.
  • Appointed person qualification
  • Ability to understand the principles associated with mechanics, electrics and hydraulics in relation to lifting equipment.
  • BOSIET Certification (training can be provided).
  • GWO Certification (training can be provided).
  • LEEA qualification (training can be provided).
  • Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001.

GENERAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Microsoft, Excel and word proficiency.
  • Microsoft project.
  • Attention to detail, ability to get things done efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Project management: planning & scheduling, budget management, purchasing, managing resource and sub-contractors.
  • Technical support: technical sales support for parts and new equipment, project technical support to service engineers.
  • Report to senior management team.
  • Client liaison: engage with clients, reports and meetings. Site visits and surveys.
  • Supplier liaison: engagement with Palfinger, including travel to factories, ordering and interacting with other suppliers.
  • Engineering Design: Design and selection of components, update drawings and 3D models of Outreach manufacture parts.
  • Support on Electrical/Hydraulic fault finding and repair.
  • Documentation production: technical and operational documents.
  • Promote the sale of the company’s products and services.
  • Follow company Health and Safety processes.
