Job Description Position Title-Project Engineer – Process Safety (Oil & Gas) Location: Pune /Noida, India Work Model: Onsite – In Office A Day in the Life As a Project Engineer – Process Safety, you will design, configure, and deliver automation and process safety systems for Oil & Gas projects. You will work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams and report to the Team Lead, working onsite in Pune, travelling to customers and regional locations for testing and commissioning activities. Your Responsibilities Configure and program automation and control systems including PLC, DCS, ICSS, ESD, and FGS platforms. Design and engineer Process Safety and Control Systems for Oil & Gas industry applications. Develop HMI and SCADA applications for Rockwell Automation systems and other comparable platforms. Execute projects end‑to‑end from design, engineering, testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) through site commissioning. Prepare project engineering documentation in accordance with IEC standards and internal quality procedures. Ensure timely delivery of projects of high quality, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with the Supervisor and project team to identify, clarify, and mitigate technical risks. Support customer acceptance by providing strong application and technical expertise. Continuously improve engineering capability by sharing best practices and lessons learned with the team. The Essentials – You Will Have Bachelor's degree or Diploma in engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline) or equivalent professional experience. 3–8 years of experience in project execution for Process Safety and Control applications in the Oil & Gas industry. Hands‑on experience with PLC/DCS‑based control systems and Process Safety systems. Working knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 functional safety standards. Understanding process safety concepts such as SIL systems, fail‑safe and fault‑tolerant architectures, and TMR/DMR systems. Ability to interpret P&IDs, system architectures, I/O lists, and process safety design documentation. Willingness and ability to travel for FAT, commissioning, and site support activities as required. The ability to travel 50% of the time The Preferred – You Might Also Have Exposure to Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Fire & Gas Systems (FGS), Burner Management Systems (BMS), and Wellhead Control Systems. TÜV Functional Safety Certification or ISA 84.0 Functional Safety certification. Experience working across the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning for process safety systems. Prior exposure to process industry environments beyond Oil & Gas. Foundational understanding of project management principles and multidisciplinary engineering collaboration.
