Summary The Project Engineer to assist with the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project.  The Project Engineer must have the ability to work with multiple discipline projects and demonstrate excellent project management, supervision, organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Education, Licensure and Experience   * A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. * A valid engineering license. * 4 or more years' field and project planning experience. * Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software. * The ability to work with multiple discipline projects. * Excellent project management and supervision skills. * Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices. Achieve safety objectives by assuring the proper and safe operation of plant steam, refrigeration, and other utilities.  2. Ensure all safety policies are followed by maintenance personnel and contractors. 3. Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects. 4. Formulating project parameters and assigning responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team. 5. Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field. 6. Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability. 7. Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions. 8. Developing specifications for the project's needed equipment. 9. Creating frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection. 10. Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests. 11. Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications. 12. Responsible for the technical development of all assigned staff.  Will participate in the recruitment, selection, coaching, evaluation, and development of all assigned maintenance personnel.  13. Provide input for the preparation of budgets and implementation plans for maintenance, repair, capital, and reliability improvement expenditures (including the identification of outside resources when appropriate.)  Accountable for adhering to various expense and capital budgets as assigned. 14. Minimize plant mechanical delay by identifying problem areas and recommending corrective action when needed.  15. Manage CMMS asset system in order to monitor the arrival of new equipment, as well as the departure of retired equipment. 16. Ensure compliance of plant policies, statutory codes, and regulatory requirements to include OSHA, EPA, and other environmental and safety regulations and guidelines.  17. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all administrative duties.  18. Keep the Plant Engineer and Superintendent of Engineering informed of equipment breakdowns, personnel issues, and maintenance improvements in assigned areas.  19. Other duties as assigned.  Supervisory Responsibilities                  Supervises personnel to ensure quality service in accordance with the Personnel Manual and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include but are not limited:   * Guide and direct a staff of skilled refrigeration professionals, maintenance technicians, and support personnel engaged in activities involving the installation, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of refrigeration and boiler equipment. * Determining staffing requirements necessary to meet the department’s needs.  * Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees in performance of duties in compliance with all state and federal standards and laws as well as company requirements.  * Planning and directing work schedules to assign and coordinate the work of office employees to promote efficiency of operations and in accordance with budgeted hours, ensuring that all duties are performed – work assignments to assist staff in completing and performing such tasks.  * Delegating responsibility and accountability to as deemed necessary.      Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the language of the majority cultural group in order to communicate effectively.   Must be able to hear enough to understand those individuals as well.  Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend documents such as grafts/flow sheets, financials, general professional articles and publications, governmental regulations, safety rules, assignment sheets, and procedure manuals.   Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures, and other administrative forms as outlined above.     Must be able to effectively communicate in both individual and group settings.  Must be able to present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups.   We offer a competitive benefits package which includes: * Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance * Company matching Retirement Plan * Paid time off * Short term and long term disability * Referral program * Flexible Spending and Health Savings Plans Wholestone Farms is an equal opportunity employer.
