Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy initiative in the country, is an ambitious expansion of the iconic Snowy Scheme. Focused on providing on-demand power and vast storage capacity, this project is paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon future.

Responsibilities

As a vital part of our team, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and project delivery. Your responsibilities will cover:

  • Safety Leadership: Champion a culture of safety by implementing safety plans, demonstrating behaviours aligned with Snowy Values, and strictly adhering to SHL Health & Safety policies. You’ll lead by example for colleagues and team members.
  • Construction Oversight & Assurance:
  • Proactively monitor contractor activities to guarantee compliance with Employer’s Requirements (ER) and the Employer’s Design and Construction Requirements
  • Continuously review contractor performance, identifying potential deficiencies early to prevent delays or a reduction in work quality
  • Ensure all construction work aligns with the latest IFC drawings, specifications, and relevant documents
  • Provide essential guidance to ensure inspections, tests, acceptances, and remedies are conducted in the project’s best interest and according to the latest design revisions.
  • Quality Management & Reporting:
  • Perform on-site Quality Management for civil engineering and construction, overseeing contractor activities to ensure the built product rigorously meets contractual requirements and Snowy Hydro’s project objectives
  • Verify that all necessary project documentation is accurately produced and meticulously recorded
  • Confirm works are executed in strict accordance with the latest IFC drawings, specifications, and other pertinent documents
  • Offer crucial technical support to Site Surveillance and Assurance Officers (Civil, Safety & Environmental)
  • Prepare and submit daily progress reports to the Quality Manager, detailing plant and equipment, key KPIs, onsite resources, weather, and access conditions
  • Attend and monitor Review, Witness, and Hold Points, managing a register of Inspection Test Plan (ITP) progress and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the 6-week lookahead
  • Ensure all necessary site drawings, documents, and records are maintained as up-to-date, accessible versions, with hard copies available on-site when required
  • Attend contractor quality audits and review contractor lot records
  • Maintain daily physical presence at all active work fronts, across all areas of responsibility, and ensure accurate electronic records, including site photos, are stored.
