Job Description: Project Engineer (Solar PV)

As the UK continues to decarbonise the electricity, heat and transportation sectors, the demand for renewable electricity will continue to increase. Horizon Power & Energy is supporting the transition away from fossil fuels by originating and developing large scale solar PV projects. If you are passionate about climate change and engineering, this may be your opportunity to join a small team focussed upon the identification and development of large solar farms, solar PV car ports and commercial solar PV roofs.
The successful applicant will be part of a small team undertaking feasibility studies, design, development and delivery of large solar PV projects, and will have personal responsibility for the following activities;
Project Design
· Project site surveys
· Project array design and modelling, utilising specialist software
· Electrical system design, utilising specialist software.
· Preparing grid connection applications
· CAD drawing production
Project Development
· Producing project programmes
· Supporting business development and new sales opportunities
· Developing scheme layouts for planning applications
· Managing the scheme development process
· Liaising with specialist consultants
· Managing the submission of project planning applications
Project Execution
· Attending project progress meetings
· Occasional snagging and quality visits for new installations
