JOB SUMMARY:

STEP Engineering is a professional engineering consulting firm located in Calgary, Alberta. We are a multi-discipline organization specializing in the oil and gas industry. Our goal is to provide engineering services of the highest quality in order meet the specific needs of every client.
We are looking for a talented Project Engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience to support our engineering projects. The role involves providing project support for design, budgeting, and scheduling, as well as engaging in facility planning and design activities. You will work closely with drafting teams, review vendor designs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience working in an EPCM setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • E.I.T. or P.Eng. certification with APEGA.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to dynamic changes and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with drafting teams to develop PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Prepare and assess bids for projects.
  • Provide project support for design basis, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions for facility projects to bodies such as AER, ABSA, BCER, and other relevant agencies.
  • Develop and maintain lists, including Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Instrumentation Lists, Tie-in Lists, and Vendor Lists.
  • Engage in facility planning and design activities.
  • Conduct detailed calculations, specify equipment, and review detailed engineering drawings.
  • Review and evaluate vendor design data, calculations, and drawings, and liaise with suppliers and clients.
