The Opportunity We are seeking a Site Engineer Civil & Structural to join our team in Wellington, supporting the delivery of key works on a thermal drying plant project. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will play a critical part in delivering civil and structural scopes including foundations, concrete structures, underground services, drainage, pavements, and structural steel installations. You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving safe, efficient delivery aligned with Downer’s Zero Harm principles.  What we are looking for We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer with strong technical and coordination skills, who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment. * Degree or diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering * 3+ years’ experience in civil/structural site engineering * Proven experience across:  * Earthworks and excavation * Concrete works, reinforcement & formwork * Structural steel installation * Ability to interpret civil, structural, and GA drawings * Solid understanding of construction sequencing, QA processes and HSE requirements * Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing site activities * Experience in industrial, water, or wastewater projects * Exposure to heavy industrial foundations and complex installations * Familiarity with New Zealand standards and regulations  What we offer * Opportunity for career growth with structured frameworks and a supportive, inclusive team * Competitive salary and employee benefits * A valued and respected position within an experienced and collaborative team * The opportunity to work for a major ASX-listed company About Energy & Utilities Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team providing end-to-end services across water, electricity, telecommunications, industrial and power generation sectors.
