POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical success of assigned projects within defined budget and schedule constraints. This role focuses on the technical management and coordination of engineering resources to ensure compliance with customer technical requirements in AC/DC power conversion and protection products. Projects range from refreshes of existing systems to new product introductions.
The Project Engineer will primarily operate as a small team leader and occasionally as an individual contributor, providing oversight, guidance, and technical support to cross-functional engineering teams. This role requires strong attention to detail, structured execution, and the ability to clearly communicate complex information.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Broad-based technical knowledge with emphasis in Electrical Power Conversion and Systems Engineering.
  • Experience across the full lifecycle of hardware/software products, from concept through production (architecture, design, integration, verification, validation).
  • Strong knowledge of engineering processes including Lean Product Development, Design for X (DFX), Six Sigma, PLM, and Systems Engineering.
  • Proven ability to decompose complex projects, assign work across disciplines, and plan effective execution.
  • Familiarity with military/defense contracting environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to internal teams and customers.
  • Demonstrated leadership of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and arbitration skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel and Project emphasis).
  • Proficiency in CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience with PLM tools (Agile).
  • Experience with MRP systems (CostPoint).
  • PMP Certification.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering/Science field and 4+ years of relevant experience,
    OR Master’s degree in progress and 2+ years of relevant experience,

OR in lieu of degree, 8+ years of technical and project management experience.

  • Preferred experience in power distribution, generation, and/or conversion equipment development.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $52.00 - $55.00 per hour
