Project Engineer
Location: Bremerton, WA
Department: Operations

Job Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
Triton Marine Construction Corp. is seeking a qualified Project Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in heavy civil, marine, or mechanical (non-HVAC) construction. The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and Superintendent by developing and maintaining work plans, schedules, procurement processes, and quality control programs. This position plays a key role in estimating, project startup, and ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and client requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support project execution by developing work plans, tracking submittals, and maintaining documentation.
  • Own the quality control process for assigned projects, including oversight of subcontractors and fabrication shops.
  • Develop and manage project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Coordinate procurement and ensure quality control of materials delivered to the jobsite.
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, permits, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with estimating efforts, including quantity take-offs and labor/equipment projections.
  • Participate in bid reviews and proposal development for marine, civil, and mechanical projects.
  • Support project startup by transitioning bid estimates to project budgets and developing critical path schedules.
  • Lead submittal processes and manage documentation required by agencies such as NAVFAC, USCG, DOE, and EPA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in heavy civil, marine, or mechanical (plumbing/piping) construction.
  • Experience in estimating and bidding small to mid-size heavy civil projects (preferred).
  • Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction estimating software.
  • Experience with HCSS (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field and office personnel, subcontractors, clients, and government agencies.
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.

Work Conditions

  • Office hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Field hours vary depending on project needs
  • Must be willing to travel to project sites and stay for up to 14 days at a time
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check required
  • Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs and work in various weather conditions for extended hours
  • Must be able to walk, sit, climb, bend, crawl, and perform other physical activities throughout the workday

Compensation and Benefits

  • The pay range for this position is $90,00 to $110,000.
  • Actual base compensation offered will be determined based on multiple factors, including relevant skills and experience.
