Description

As a Project Engineer at Valent BioSciences you will be responsible for completing professional level engineering assignments related to production and utilities areas. You will plan and execute small to medium size projects requiring equipment, piping, instrumentation, and electrical design. You will devise new approaches to problems encountered. Examples of project assignments include process improvements, safety and ergonomic improvements, capacity increase, and utility conservation. As a Project Engineer, you will have additional project team responsibilities, as required, during major capital projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum four year engineering degree, or equivalent experience, preferably a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Five years minimum of project experience in a process, bioprocess, pharmaceutical or similar industry.
  • Design experience with batch reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, filters, valves and instrumentation.
  • Project management experience.
  • DCS and PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (oral and verbal).

Responsibilities
  • Plans, schedules, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work including P&ID development, equipment and instrumentation design specifications, process requirement specifications, work scope development, equipment procurement, project cost control, construction oversight through project closeout.
  • Supervises changes, modifications, and improvements in process and utility systems to ensure compliance with safety, production, and regulatory requirements.
  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering practices, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor process adaptations and modifications.
  • Checks system drawings by walking through to the end points of responsibility, including checking pipes and valves for proper identification and tagging.
  • Generate project requirement documentation.
  • Management of Change requirements
  • Test reports, Installation qualifications and acceptance requirements.
  • As built requirements and required updates to documentation.
  • Maximize standardization of information contained in design documents, schematic drawings.
  • Additional duties as required.
