Roles and responsibilities

Navigate and command vessels when required in accordance with international conventions and Australian maritime law.

Travel across multiple Australian ports to apply master-level expertise in navigation, vessel operations, crew management, and international maritime law.

Plan and oversee voyage safety, including passage planning, cargo handling, and stowage operations onboard ships to ensure protected and effective marine operations.

Direct crew management activities, including watchkeeping arrangements, onboard operational planning, and identifying training requirements for ship after inspections
