Our Engineering area is formed by a consolidated team that works nationally and internationally in the basic and detailed design of renewable energy projects. Its mission is to ensure that these designs meet the highest quality standards to maximize the profitability of our client’s projects. We also have a specialized team that acts as Property Engineering and supervises the construction and commissioning phases of the projects, reporting the progress of work and ensuring the quality of the work in the different disciplines: civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.
Enertis is seeking a qualified Project Engineer candidate to join our UK-based Owner’s Engineering Team of professionals. This position will focus on the UK photovoltaic and energy storage markets, however contributions to the global engineering teams is expected.
In this role you will support our culture of internal and external client service, build our strength in understanding and anticipating client needs and expectations, execute strategies to advance the client’s project objectives and manage risk, establish priorities, promote alignment the project team, and resolve emergent problems

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong understanding of layout optimization and technical knowledge of major equipment associated with solar PV and BESS facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of civil, structural, and electrical engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
  • Experience in reviewing 30%, 60%, 90% drawings as related to projects.
  • Intermediate knowledge of civil earthwork, concrete, asphalt paving, underground utility, grading and drainage, structural, and mechanical construction as related to utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage solutions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of project development/siting/studies/permitting, feasibility studies, conceptual design, and energy production estimates.

f. Review and approval of submittals, CO, RFI, and NCRs, to determine their validity against the specifications of the EPC Contract and known local conditions of the project site. Recommend appropriate resolution and direction to client. Monitor open submittals to ensure closeout within EPC guidelines.

  • Work closely with EPC Contractor, and internal engineering resources to review and approve Utility Scale PV & BESS plant drawing packages at various stages of the design to ensure compliance with owner scope of work (SOW), technical specifications, applicable codes & standards, contractual documents, and good industry practices. This may include
Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for overseeing execution of Utility Scale PV Solar and BESS projects through the development, design, construction, and commissioning phases:

  • Maintain an intimate knowledge and understanding of project documentation. Including, but not limited to:

a. Civil, Electrical, and Structural Plans and Design.
b. Installation manuals.
c. EPC Contract.
d. Power Purchase Agreement.
e. Connection Agreement.
f. Planning Permissions.

g. Schedule.

  • Oversee project execution through the project lifecycle to ensure scope, cost, schedule, and quality goals are met. Including, but not limited to, the following:

a. Manage stakeholder meetings and communications to monitor project status, track deliverables, as well as identify and mitigate potential risks.
b. Prepare status regular reports to the Client to identify and communicate risks to scope, cost, and schedule and develop mitigation plans and recommendations for said risks.
c. Assist the Client in maintenance and retention of key project documents.
d. Review the EPC Contractor’s progress reports and analyse the project schedule, cost, and quality documentation and provide recommendations to the Client.
e. Provide technical support on the construction methodology proposed by the EPC Contractor, evaluating advantages, disadvantages and potential cost savings or increase costs associated with variation claims.

f. Review and approval of submittals, CO, RFI, and NCRs, to determine their validity against the specifications of the EPC Contract and known local conditions of the project site. Recommend appropriate resolution and direction to client. Monitor open submittals to ensure closeout within EPC guidelines.

  • Work closely with EPC Contractor, and internal engineering resources to review and approve Utility Scale PV & BESS plant drawing packages at various stages of the design to ensure compliance with owner scope of work (SOW), technical specifications, applicable codes & standards, contractual documents, and good industry practices. This may include:

a. Project layouts, single line diagrams, collection system studies, and equipment installation details.
b. Calculations and studies including, but not limited to, load flow, grounding, short circuit, arc flash, ampacity, geotechnical, structural, etc.
c. Identification of gaps in scope, specifications, cost, and schedule, and driving resolution of these issues.
d. Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to address all technical concerns, deliverables, along with any issues and challenges encountered during the project, and to ensure design deliverables and schedules meet project requirement.
e. Coordinate and support for the delivery of “as built” drawings by the EPC Contractor and provide an exception report as part of the defects list.
