JOB DESCRIPTION

EKHO IS is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to lead and manage all estimating activities related to precast concrete projects.
The Project Estimator supports the development of accurate, timely, and competitive bids for precast concrete projects. You’ll perform quantity takeoffs, assemble cost inputs, draft proposal content, and collaborate with engineering, drafting, sales, procurement, and project management. This is a hands-on role designed for early- to mid-career professionals who want to build depth in infrastructure estimating.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely cost estimates for precast construction projects (commercial, industrial, infrastructure, etc.).
  • Review architectural and structural drawings to understand scope and help identify precast components.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and support the development of pricing models using historical data, subcontractor quotes, and material costs.
  • Work under the guidance of senior estimators to ensure quality and consistency across estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement to confirm alignment between estimate assumptions and project execution strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of value engineering options and alternative design solutions to improve project feasibility and competitiveness.
  • Assist in soliciting and reviewing bids from subcontractors and suppliers; help maintain and update the vendor database.
  • Prepare estimate summaries and supporting documentation for review by senior estimators or management.
  • Support tracking and analysis of estimate performance metrics to help improve accuracy over time.
  • Perform other estimating-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-4 years of experience in construction estimating with a strong focus on precast concrete systems.
  • Ability to read construction drawings/specs and translate into quantifiable scope.
  • Excellent Excel skills; familiarity with tools like Bluebeam, OST, or similar is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Clear written communication; able to capture assumptions and clarify scope.
  • Organized, detail-driven, and comfortable working on multiple bids with deadlines.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to precast fabrication, construction, or civil engineering projects.
