Weaver Group has the following long-term positions available, within the Grande Prairie, Alberta area: Project Estimator

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Estimator with a background in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering to lead the preparation of competitive and accurate estimates for mechanical, facility, and pipeline integrity projects. This role also involves managing awarded projects through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical or Petroleum engineering.
  • Candidates with experience in pipeline or facility construction estimation will be given preference; however, training will be provided for the right candidate without prior experience.
  • Strong understanding of work breakdown structures and pipeline construction divisions.
  • Proven ability to lead estimating efforts and manage projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in project cost control, schedule tracking, and risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Estimating & Cost Management
  • Lead the preparation of detailed and competitive estimate packages for complex projects.
  • Prepare direct and indirect cost estimates with minimal supervision.
  • Solicit and analyze subtrade and supplier pricing; maintain subtrade database.
  • Incorporate drawing and specification requirements into estimates and assess potential risks.
  • Stay current with market rates for materials, labor, and equipment; provide cost insights to the team.
  • Lead value engineering efforts to optimize project costs and performance.
